Stainless steel as a whole is corrosion-resistant however; different grades perform better than others.
The introduction of nickel in 304 makes it a much more corrosion resistant grade than 430 and for this reason would be considered for installation in a coastal province however, it does make it more expensive.
430 differ in its carbon content and the lack of elements such as nickel. For this reason it is generally considered for installation inland or indoors. Where cost is a larger factor than the life span, 430 may be more suitable.
