About Best Braais
Best Braais & Fireplaces, established in 2002, is the South African producer of the Best Braais range of built-in braais. Our own branded units are manufactured locally in South Africa, with a lead time of approximately 10 to 15 business days. We also supply gas braais, fireplaces, flues and cowls.
We offer free delivery on qualifying built-in braai and fireplace units to the main centres: Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Bloemfontein. Many other towns, including George, Pretoria and Ballito, also qualify; this is confirmed at checkout. Flues and cowls ordered together with a unit also ship free. Accessories and parts ordered on their own are charged for delivery at checkout.

Installation Environment Guidelines
Choose the grade using both the location and how the braai is installed:
- Coastal town, any outdoor installation (exposed or under a roof or lapa): 316 stainless steel is the primary recommendation; 304 is the lower-cost alternative.
- Coastal town, fully enclosed patio or indoors: 304 stainless steel. Mild steel only if the braai is fully indoors.
- Inland town in a coastal province (for example George or Stellenbosch), outdoors: 304 stainless steel. For an enclosed patio, 304 or 430.
- Inland (for example Johannesburg, Pretoria, Bloemfontein), outdoors or covered: 430 or 304 stainless steel. 316 is suitable as an optional premium upgrade but is not normally needed.
- Inland, indoors or enclosed: 430, 304 or mild steel.
- Rule of thumb: within about 5 km of the sea, choose 316.
For mild steel and 430 stainless steel braais in coastal areas, all components exposed above the brickwork (flue and cowl) must be 304 stainless steel or higher.
316 stainless steel is offered only in the Standard built-in range, the Standard insert braai and the freestanding patio braai. The DeLuxe, Professional, Spit and Double-Sided ranges are mild steel units, with 304 stainless steel available on special order for some models; they are never made in 316.
Standard Built-in Braais - from R12,332
Entry-level range for reliable performance without extras. Constructed from 2.5mm mild steel, sprayed with heat-resistant black primer.
Includes: 2.5mm steel body, ember maker, potjie hook, braai grid (electro-plated), light fitting, ashpan, ash tray & trap, 2 doors & 2 chains.

DeLuxe Built-in Braais - from R13,435
Reinforced construction for regular demanding use. Features a thicker 3mm steel body and a 304 stainless steel grid for improved durability and cooking performance.
Includes: reinforced 3mm steel body, reinforced ember maker, 1 x 304 stainless steel grid, scraper tool, potjie hook, light fitting, ash pan & tray, double doors & 2 chains. 1200mm and 1500mm models supplied with 2 x half grids for different-level cooking.

Professional Built-in Braais - from R22,202
Designed for modern entertainment spaces. Features a single slide-in door that retracts underneath the unit, freeing up workspace. Dual stainless steel grids allow flexible cooking at different heights.
Includes: reinforced 3mm steel body, reinforced ember maker, 2 x 304 stainless steel grids, scraper tool, potjie hook, light fitting, ash pan & tray, single slide-in door.
Available sizes: 1200mm and 1500mm.
DeLuxe Spit Braais - from R33,595
DeLuxe specification with the addition of a heavy-duty spit motor for whole lamb or hog spit-roasting. Spit motor cabinet included.
Includes: reinforced 3mm steel body, reinforced ember maker, 2 x 304 stainless steel grids, scraper tool, potjie hook, light fitting, ash pan & tray, double doors & chains, spit motor cabinet with door, heavy-duty spit motor & spit arm.

Double-Sided Built-in Braais - from R21,415
Installed in an outer wall, accessible from both inside and outside. Effectively two grilling stations in one unit, ideal for larger properties with indoor and outdoor entertaining areas.

Combination Built-in Braais (Wood & Gas) - from R30,995
Features both a wood/charcoal burning section and a 2-burner gas grill section side by side. Includes chicken rotisserie rod, prong set, and battery-operated rotisserie motor. Available in 430 and 304 stainless steel.
304 Stainless Steel Built-in Braais - from R21,550
Entire unit constructed from 304 stainless steel including the body, doors, and grid. Suitable for most inland installations, for outdoor braais in inland towns of coastal provinces such as George, and for enclosed patios at the coast. Available in 800mm, 1000mm, 1200mm, and 1500mm models.
316 Stainless Steel Braais (built-in, insert and patio) - from R29,995
Marine-grade stainless steel with added molybdenum for better resistance to salt-air pitting. The primary recommendation for any outdoor braai in a coastal town, whether exposed or under a roof or lapa, and for anything within about 5 km of the sea. Available in the Standard built-in range (1000mm, 1200mm and 1500mm), the 1200mm Standard insert braai and the 1200mm freestanding patio braai.
Stainless Steel Insert Braais - from R16,550
Designed to slot into an existing brick braai cavity. Available in 430 stainless steel (inland), 304 stainless steel (inland coastal-province towns and enclosed coastal installations) and, in the 1200mm Standard insert, 316 stainless steel for outdoor coastal use. Includes 2mm stainless steel body, single door, ember maker, light fitting, ash pan, and zinc-plated grid.
