Do you have a Brick Braai ?
Would you like to convert it into a Built-in Braai ?

Braai inserts are a practical way to upgrade an existing brick braai cavity without rebuilding the entire braai area again. The insert fits inside the existing opening and gives you a purpose-built Braaiing area for wood or charcoal, with options ranging from simple table top units to complete built-in inserts with doors, an ember maker and an ash pan.
Best Braais has supplied braai equipment across South Africa since 2002. Our insert range includes standard sizes, several steel grades and custom-made options for brick openings that do not match a standard unit.
Choose the Right Type of Braai Insert
Built-In Insert Braais
A built-in insert braai is designed to slot into a suitable existing brick braai cavity. These units provide more of the features associated with a complete built-in braai, including a steel body and selected cooking and fire-management components.
Our standard stainless steel insert range includes 1000mm and 1200mm models in 430, 304 and selected 316 stainless steel options. A custom-size insert can also be configured when the opening does not suit a standard model.

Table Top Insert Braais
Table top insert braais provide a simpler, open cooking setup for an existing brick braai or another suitable heat-resistant surface. The collection includes 700mm, 800mm, 900mm, 1000mm and 1200mm sizes, with mild steel, 430 stainless steel and 304 stainless steel options.

Choosing the Right Material
Mild steel: A popular option suitable for indoor or sheltered inland installations where available.
430 stainless steel: Best considered for indoor or inland environments with lower salt exposure.
304 stainless steel: Offers stronger corrosion resistance and is suited to many covered installations, including coastal indoor applications.
316 stainless steel: The preferred option where available for exposed, high-salt coastal environments.
The correct material depends on whether the braai is indoors, under cover or exposed to weather, as well as the distance from the coast.
Measure Before You Order
An existing brick opening may not be perfectly square. Measure the width, depth and height in several places and use the smallest measurement from each direction. Also check for lintels, light fittings, bricks or plaster that protrude into the cavity.
If the opening does not match a standard size, use the custom insert option and provide the required measurements and notes. Custom products are manufactured to order, so confirm the measurements carefully before placing the order.
